SOSUNS’ annual general meeting for 2018 was held on the 24th November at St Ives Community Hall. It began with an address by the Club Chairman, Aditya Swarup, followed by a presentation of certificates to all athletes who attended the meeting.
Athletes and their families then enjoyed a BBQ dinner, kindly run by the Epping Eastwood Lions Club, followed by a disco.
A big thanks to the Lions Club and those who helped organise the AGM and disco. We wish you all a wonderful holiday break and look forward to another eventful year in 2019.
SOSUNS has recently added Bocce as a sports program option! Bocce is an Italian ball sport similar to lawn bowls. It’s a great way to get fit, gain confidence and socialise with other people.
It runs between 4:30-5:30pm every Saturday at West Pymble Bicentennial Club (excluding school holidays).
If you’re interested in participating, contact firstname.lastname@example.org

On the 28th July, SOSUNS hosted its first Winter Party at West Pymble Bowling Club. Athletes, friends and family members enjoyed some dinner, followed by a disco.
Many thanks to West Pymble Bicentennial Club for hosting the event and to Janene and Jo for organising the night.

On the 15th of April, about 10 Special Olympics Sydney Upper North Shore Athletes travelled to Adelaide to compete at the Special Olympics National Games.
We competed in tennis, swimming, sailing and basketball.
In basketball Josh’s team came 2nd, Michael’s came 4th, Jonathan’s team came 4th as well and my team came 2nd.
I enjoyed meeting athletes from across Australia in particular I met some Western Australia basketball athletes. Everyone had a great time and it was a great event.
