SOSUNS Performance Dance Group Wow the Gold Coast
January 18, 2010 by deb · Leave a Comment
The SOSUNS performance dance group really is becoming famous!
Late last year Mat Rogers and Chloe Maxwell, whose son has been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, invited the group to travel up to Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast and perform at a fundraising weekend the couple had organised.
With great excitement the dancers travelled by train and plane, accompanied by family, friends and their wonderful dance teacher Cathy.
The train travellers, Stewart, Emma, Lachlan and Andrew arrived a day early and together with Audrey, who was already holidaying on the Gold Coast, they were invited by Chloe to attend a formal dinner that night. Off to the shops the group rushed where with the help of Jo and Aunt Bernie they were outfitted to look a million dollars and in Emma’s case like a princess!
The dinner was amazing as the dancers were met at the door by Mat and Chloe and made to feel very special.
The following day the plane travellers arrived and after a fun lunch filled with laughs, travel stories and inspirational group bonding it was time to head to the venue for rehearsal.
The night’s lineup was almost as famous as our dancers - Paulini, Melinda Sneider, the Australian Girls Choir, Sandra Sully MCing and more.
Our dancers commected with the audience (around 1500 people) in approximately 2 seconds and did a fantastic job. There were many happy tears and a standing ovation at the end of an incredible, perfect performance. Chloe said that the dancers truly contributed to the night being special and promptly booked them in for another fundraiser late this year. Even Sandra Sulley had to wipe away a tear before she could introduce the next item.
