Support for New Bocce Training Group

The Bocce Come and Try day held recently at North Sydney Bowling Club was a resounding success.  Fifteen athletes came and enjoyed bocce training, some great and close games with family and friends followed by a delicious barbecue and drink whilst looking at the exquisite harbour view.

There was overwhelming support for SOSUNS to start up it’s own weekly bocce group in the Willoughby area.

Thank you very much to the Springett family who put so much time and effort into organising this day.  Thanks the North Sydney Bowling Club for hosting us on their magnificent grounds.  Finally, a big thank you to Mary Greig and her helpers for their expertise and help with coaching our new athletes and their families.

Stay tuned for further details on when we will start the bocce training.

Bocce

SOSUNS is holding a bocce come and try day on Sunday 20th September to guage the interest in starting a regular training group in the region.

Bocce is a fun, easy game that can be played by athletes of all ages.  Often described as ‘adult marbles’ the game involves rolling a bocce ball towards a smaller ball.  The player that gets their bocce ball closest wins the shot.

Come along to the come and try day and see for yourself how much fun this game is.  Bring your family and enjoy a free sausage sizzle followed by some coaching and a game.

When:  1:30pm   Sunday 20th September

Where:  North Sydney Bowling Club, St Leonards Park, Ridge street, North Sydney

Bring: Flat soled shoes, sun protection, your smiles and your friends

RSVP: peterspringett@aapt.net.au   0416 212 199
