SOSUNS Softball Rematch a Draw

A fantastic day was had by all at the recent regional softball carnval held by SOSUNS at st Ives Village Green.  The sun chose this day to finally shine through and all players were in good spirits.

There are currently only two softball teams in NSW, SOSUNS and Sydney North.  The two teams enjoyed a friendly game with sportsmanship and goodwill the predominant features of the day.

 

 

Brett, our SOSUNS coach, did a fantastic job managing the game and keeping the players motivated to do their best.  He was admirably supported by massistnat coach mandy, umpires Sue and Fran and the Sydney North coaches Olly and Beth.

 

 

A huge thank you also to our band of student volunteers who supported Brett and Mandy and helped the athletes really have a good time with lots of help and laughs.

Both teams batted and fielded well.  There were so many home runs on both sides that at the end of the session the game was called a healthy and successful draw!

 

 

Well done to parent coordinator Cath, on organising a great softball experience for our athletes!

SOSUNS Models Dazzle all in Blue Illusion Fashion Parade

Shoppers at Blue illusion women’s clothing store in Hornsby were recently treated to a dazzling display of modelling skills by Special Olympic athletes Caitlin, Lucy and Nalyn.    Making their modelling debut, the girls confidently dipped, twirled and sashayed around the store in their flattering outfits. 2010 Variety Dinner - Simply the Best

Come and enjoy a great night out supporting Special Olympics Sydney Upper North Shore at the annual Variety Dinner.  The theme for 2010 is ‘Simply the Best’ and you will undoubtedly leave for the night having had one of the BEST experiences of your life.  Be entertained by the Special Olympics Sydney Upper North Shore dance group, enjoy good food and wine and maybe even have a dabble in the silent auction.

2010 SOSUNS Volunteers and Coaches Recognised

A fantastic night was enjoyed by Special Olympics Sydney Upper North Shore (SOSUNS) volunteers, coaches and supporters at the Avondale Golf Club recently.  Great music from the Barker School Jazz Band, lovely food and drinks supplied by Avondale and inspirational company from the people who contribute to the success of SOSUNS contributed to an enjoyable evening where coaches and volunteers could be thanked in person.
