Basketballers Win Special Olympic Gold

The atmosphere was electric with excitement and anticipation as the SOSUNS basketball team began their campaign for gold at the recent State Basketball Championships held in Newcastle. Held over two days the team played and won all three of their round matches on Saturday.
Inaugural Special Olympic Dance Concert Rocks

The first SOSUNS Dance Concert held on 14 March 2009 was a brilliant success. The energy and enthusiasm of the dancers, resplendent in their beautiful costumes and with their big beaming smiles, was a privilege to witness. SOSUNS hopes to hold it’s first dance eisteddfod in November.

Oh what a night! The very first SOSUNS concert featured 4 of our dance groups performing a total of 9 dances. Special guests Elaine Malicki and Jennifer Anderson, Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Kuringai, summed up the night when with great emotion they thanked the dancers for the privilege of being able to be there and watch them.

Its with much anticipation that the Special Olympics Sydney Upper North Shore Region launches its new website. We are very excited about the possibilities it brings.
The key goals in launching our new website are to:

- Provide an readily accessible source of information to our Athlete’s, Parents/Carers, Coaches and Volunteers
- Build our community - it touches so many individuals and organisations so lets harness that energy to do great things
