Skiing Program 2011

Our goal is to develop a snow sports program and pathways for Special Olympics Australia athletes.  SOA with the valuable support and expertise from Disabled Wintersports Australia (DWA) are delighted to announce our 2011 ski camp. 

This camp will include a State and National Competition.  Selection for the 2013 World Winter games in South Korea will be made from this National event.

CAMP DETAILS:

Ski Slopes:  Thredbo, Perisher Blue, Smiggin Holes, New South Wales

Dates:  Sunday 21st August to Sunday 28th August 2011
SONSW State Competition:  Thursday 25th August 2011
SOA National Competition:  Saturday 27th August 2011

Accommodation:  Finsko’s Lodge, Jindabyne Sport and Recreation Centre, Jindabyne

Cost:  All inclusive, approximately $1600 per athlete.  Final costs will be advised once they are known.

To secure your place at the camp a deposit of $800 is required together with your completed medical and registration forms.  Please make cheque payable to Special Olympics NSW and send with forms to Kenn Brown.

Please note:

DWA arranges the facilities, programs and qualified instructors for these camps.  The Special Olympics Winter Sports Coordinator collects all the papaerwork, liaising with DWA on bookings and coordinating athletes and carers to attend the camp and organises transport for those who need it from Sydney. 

The only exception to this rule is DWA Membership which ALL athletes and helpers must have.  This is to be sent to the DWA and details and forms can be dowloaded from www.disabledwintersport.com.au
