SOSUNS performance group bring joy to campers.

The smiles on the audience were a pleasure to behold.  They clapped, laughed, moved to the music in their seats and then finally unable to contain themselves any longer, those that could, jumped up and joined in.  Once again the SOSUNS performance dance group did a fantastic job bringing joy to their audience.

The SOSUNS performance dance group has had a busy start to 2010.  They recently performed at Camp Breakaway, a wonderful place providing the opportunity for children and adults with disabilities as well as parents and carers to experience some respite in a lovely environment.  The staff at Camp Breakaway are all volunteers and the love and care that they give to the campers is extraordinary.

The SOSUNS dancers felt privileged to be asked to perform for the campers and provide them with an hour of music, dance and fun.  Dancers were also given lunch and had the opportunity to chat with and get to know the campers and volunteers.

This is not all our dancers have been busy with.  Once again they were the highlight of Newscastle’s Australia Day celebrations where they danced with Amber Lawrence who sang ‘Shine’.  Mel also did a great job as a Special Olympics ambassador speaking about her experiences and pride during the formal part of the proceedings.  SOSUNS dancers were also proud to be given the task of handing our native plants to the new Australian citizens.
