In 2010, Police officers will take the “Flame of Hope” torch across 40 cities in 29 days leading into the opening ceremony of the National Special Olympics Games being held in Adelaide.   This Law Enforcement Torch run event is Australia’s biggest fun run event for 2010.  All athletes, whether you are competing in the games or not, coaches, volunteers, supporters and famly are invited to participate.  To register, visit the link www.runwiththelaw.com.au

The torch run aims to promote equality, acceptance and friendship of people with an intellectual disability and you are invited to be part of this history making event.

The torch run will start on 19th March in Cairns, North Queensland and travel down to the Gold Coast and Brisbane, then NSW, ACT, Victoria, Tasmania and up to South Australia for the final leg into the opening ceremony of the National Games to light the cauldron.  The torch will arrive in Gosford on 29th March and travel through Sydney CBD and Sydeny Olympic Park on 30th and 31st March.

Every torch run leg will host a formal ceremony and lighting of the cauldron where local and state government officials, sponsors, ambassadors, corporates, local sports and celebrity personalities, athletes, fans, volunteers and family will come together and celebrate Special Olympics in the local community.

You can register as an individual or as a team.  You can run a full leg of 4km, half a leg or the final 10 metres.

So come and “Run with the LAW”.   Join us and have fun, meet new friends, raise funds and awareness of Special Olympics in the community.  Everyone is welcome!
