Turnaround Management Australia has again proudly supported a successful Sportsman’s Lunch. The Lunch held recently in Sydney has raised valuable funds which will allow the Special Olympics Sydney Upper North Shore Region to continue making a difference in the lives of people with an intellectual disability.
Attendees at the Sportsman’s Lunch were treated to some fantastic entertainment. Host for the function was David Koch - finance guru, Sunrise Host, 2007 Father of the Year and proud supporter of Special Olympics. David did a great job interviewing rugby legend David Campese who regaled the audience with some very interesting tales of past exploits! SOSUNS very own Harry Langford was also put in the spotlight by David and answered the questions put to him very well. Kelly Wren, a Special Olympics tennis champion from Roselands region charmed and inspired the audience with a magnificent heartfelt speech detailing her numerous achievements since joining Special Olympics.
A highlight of the afternoon was watching the extremely talented and popular SOSUNS dance group perform with Amber Lawrence singing “Shine”. The resounding applause and smiles on the faces of the audience clearly indicated how much they appreciated the performance.
The Sportsman’s Lunch was supported by many sponsors who gave prizes to be used for both the live and silent auction and also the raffle prizes. Some of these sponsers included The Legends Club, Eclipse Hospitality, Kerri Pottharst, Jane Flemming, Matthew Johns, SAS, Pandora and the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. For information on all of the wonderful SOSUNS sponsors please refer to our website.
Thank you also to the volunteers who made this event possible. The dedication of the Committee led by Fran and all of the volunteers who help on the day is appreciated by all of the SOSUNS athletes for whom this function benefits.
On 28th August SOSUNS is holding a Gala Dinner also to raise funds for the continuing operation of Special Olympic sports. If you are interested in having a great night out and supporting Special Olympics please contact Fran on frane@specialolympics.com.au or 0418 476 866.
