SOSUNS dancers have fun at the Balmoral Burn!
June 9, 2009 by deb
Hundreds of competitors flocked to Balmoral on Sunday 31st may to tackle the notorious Awaba Street hill for Mosman’s biggest charity fun run, the Balmoral Burn. Amongst the many runners, was the SOSUNS performance dance group who all did a fantastic job of representing SOSUNS on the day.
The Balmoral Burn is the major fundraising event for the Humpty Dumpty Foundation and is essential in helping to provide funding for medical equipment for the children’s wards of more than 50 NSW hospitals.
The fun run offers something for everyone, including the ‘Special Burn’ in which our athletes entered. Lachlan admits it was ‘..really tough getting up that hill..’ but he and brother Josh did a great job, coming 3rd and 2nd respectively.
The positive and encouraging atmosphere as competitors ran, walked, wheeled and crawled that final 50m was fantastic with lots of very vocal crowd support.
Following the run, the crowd was in for a further treat as the SOSUNS performance dance group entertained them with their inspirational dance to ‘Shine’.
